This morning, I visited Uncommon Coffee for the first time, and it certainly lived up to its name! Known for its community-centric vibe and locally sourced ingredients, this cozy cafe impressed me with both its ambiance and offerings. I started with something from their seasonal menu, the Hojicha Latte. For those unfamiliar, Hojicha is a unique tea made from the stems or twigs of the tea plant. What makes Uncommon's version special is that they use powdered Hojicha imported by Stone Leaf Tea, preparing it like matcha before mixing in local maple syrup and milk. I opted for the hot 10oz version, with oat milk as my choice of dairy alternative. The latte was earthy, smooth, and had a subtle sweetness from the maple syrup that made it the perfect start to the day. For food, I tried their Regular Breakfast Sandwich, choosing Beyond Sausage for a plant-based option. It came with a perfectly cooked egg, melted cheddar, and herb butter, all served on a toasted English muffin. The Beyond Sausage was flavorful, and the herb butter added a nice depth to each bite. Uncommon Coffee is a fantastic spot for anyone working remotely or students looking for a peaceful environment. The cafe's layout is both spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating options. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between vibrant and relaxed, ideal for getting some work done or simply enjoying a quiet moment with your drink. Service was friendly and efficient, with staff quick to make recommendations and answer questions. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a few hours of study, Uncommon Coffee offers an inviting, warm atmosphere with exceptional food and drinks. One interesting fact: the cafe is deeply committed to sustainability, with a strong emphasis on locally sourced products and eco-friendly practices. This is definitely a place I’ll be returning to soon!

The place nails the library-esque ambiance, blending chill with productivity—a perfect setup for anyone juggling code, emails, or just diving into the latest tech read. Coffee? Stellar. It’s the kind of brew that keeps your mind sharp and taste buds intrigued, clearly crafted with care. Paired it with their truffles—rich, indulgent, a coder’s best reward. Seating’s plentiful and designed for any agenda—solo deep work or a casual brainstorm with fellow techies. It’s obvious this spot gets the balance right: great coffee, serene space, and the freedom to settle in. In a nutshell, Uncommon Coffee Place is the go-to for anyone in tech craving quality in their cup and their surroundings. Will be my regular haunt for sure.

We love this place! Visited while we were in Essex and wish we lived closer, because I'd love to spend every morning here. That said, we've been getting their coffee subscription for over a year and they never miss. Their delicious assortment of roasts are always on time and we appreciate how customizable the delivery schedule is.

Fantastic coffee; we buy beans here weekly for home. It’s a great place to gather, too, with ample tables and space. Their breakfast sandwiches are so yummy— and they have gluten free bread to sub! The original breakfast sandwich is my favorite- it’s seriously so good. They also have some muffins and pastries (including some gluten free choices.) Friendly staff. It’s not as fast as a big chain, but it’s well worth a few minutes wait for great coffee and food. (Their maple latte is also great!)

I've purchased 3 kinds of really good coffee beans, and enjoy those flavors at home ! Perfect gluten free sandwich and cappucino over there too.

This is the only place I’ve found in the Chittenden area that has hojicha!! It’s so delicious and amazing! I’ve had their breakfast sandwich and it was not great for the price. Their scone is pretty good and not that sweet, so it’s nice to dip into a drink! The atmosphere is really great because the cafe is huge and has a variety of seating option.

I visited this location for the first time this morning after my espresso machine went kaput. It was a busy morning but the line moved quickly and my barista made my cappuccino just how I make them at home. The space is warm and inviting - definitely a good spot to meet pals and enjoy the sun coming through the window. So grateful to have good coffee on my route to work. Hooray, Uncommon Coffee!

Delicious coffee and espresso drinks. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. You can see the coffee roasting equipment and they have an open kitchen. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing. They use quality ingredients. The bacon was great, I highly recommend the Vermonter sandwich.
